Lyons, IN – January 29, 2018 – WAGLER COMPETITION PRODUCTS, known for pushing the limit and setting the standard of diesel performance, has taken its research and development program to the next level by opening WAGLER MOTORSPORTS PARK (WMP) in Lyons, Indiana.
Jeremy Wagler, owner of Wagler Competition Products and a man who is never short on innovative ideas, jumped at the opportunity to convert Lyons Raceway Park into a private motorsports testing facility where said ideas can be proven. Built in 1996, the current facility is in excellent shape and was the NHRA North Central Division track of the year in 2010, 2011, and 2012. Wagler plans to expand upon the existing 1/8th mile NHRA drag strip by adding a sled-pulling track and a professional dyno-tuning facility, Critical Calibration, Inc.
Due to the unique location, CCi is set to become a premier tuning company where initial dyno results can be tested in a real-world, off-road environment on the drag trip or pulling track. CCi will also become the headquarters of Critical Mass Motorsports (CMM), the Wagler/EZ LYNK partnership that campaigns the wild, screw-blown, diesel-powered Pro Mod 1937 Chevy known as the “Screwed Coupe.”
Wagler Motorsports Park is the perfect venue for automotive industry manufacturers to come together and share data to push technology and efficiency forward. Wagler Competition Products works closely with many leading-edge companies like, EZ LYNKS&S Diesel MotorsportPSI SuperchargersCallies Performance ProductsComp CamsRideTech, and many others. This recent addition to Wagler’s research and development capabilities stands to strengthen collaboration efforts for the common goal of better performance within the motorsports industry and better efficiency for the automotive industry.
Pushing performance automotive technology forward requires skilled people who can implement and embrace the new technology being developed. WMP recognizes the need for fresh talent and is proud to partner with the Vincennes University College of Technology by offering educational opportunities to the next generation of motorsport professionals.
Just one and a half hours from Indianapolis International Airport and ten miles off Interstate 69 in rural Southern Indiana, WMP is the ideal location for race and pulling teams to test conveniently and discretely. WMP has enlisted well known track prep specialist, Kurt Johnson of Total Venue Concepts, to provide world-class traction for events and testing alike. While the race track will not be open to the public every weekend, WMP will host a number of special events for the 2018 racing season:
·      Team 260 Neglection No Prep, May 18th-20th
·      Wagler Diesel Competition, June 8th & 9th
·      No Box Nationals, June 14th-17th
·      Southeast Gassers Association, July 28th
Wagler Motorsports Park welcomes all to attend the scheduled public events and plans to add more throughout the first year. Please send track rental inquiries to track@waglercompetition.com.

Introducing the Critical Mass Motorsports Screwed Coupe!

Wagler Competition Products and EZ LYNK (Critical Mass Motorsports) put a lot of hard work into creating the screw-blown DX500L-powered 1937 Chevy Coupe Pro Mod, and when the soot cleared, a worthy name for the coupe eluded them. That’s when they turned to the heart and soul of diesel motorsports, the fans, for help. Many great suggestions were submitted, yet one fan, in particular, hit the “screw” right on the head with “Screwed Coupe.”

Ashley Hire of Lafayette, TN was the mastermind of the catchy name and we want to give our thanks and congratulations, and a $1,000 for the trouble.

Get ready to see that newly dubbed “Screwed Coupe” for the 2018 racing season and various diesel and gas drag racing events. Several appearances at Lyons Raceway Park is a safe bet since it’s CMM’s home track. Follow Critical Mass Motorsports on Facebook to get more info.

Las Vegas, NV – October 31, 2017 – WAGLER COMPETITION PRODUCTS, the innovators in performance diesel engine technology, and EZ LYNK, the frontrunners in vehicle diagnostics and control, teamed up to form Critical Mass Motorsports (CMM) with a mission to push the limits of diesel-powered drag racing.

The nucleus of Critical Mass Motorsports is the Wagler-powered EZ LYNK 1937 Chevy Coupe Pro Mod, which was unveiled at The SEMA Show in the Premier Performance Products Distribution booth (#21641). The screw-blown diesel Coupe (name pending fan submissions) will be used as a test bed for new product development for both parties, and it’s equipped with cutting edge technology from some of the biggest names in motorsports.

The heart of the beast is a new, lightweight version of the all-billet Wagler DX500 diesel engine, which is force-fed air from a massive PSI screw blower. Nitrous and water/methanol are on tap courtesy of Nitrous Express and Atomizer Fuel Systems, and both are electronically calibrated to the S&S Diesel Motorsport fuel system.

The DX500L internals consist of Ross pistons, Total Seal piston rings, Wagler aluminum connecting rods, Trend wrist pins and pushrods, Comp Cams roller cam, Wagler roller rockers, and it’s all held together by ARP fasteners. Additionally, a custom dry sump system delivers the JR1 Racing Oil life-blood to the DX500L.

The Wagler-powered CMM Coupe sits on top of fat Mickey Thompson slicks at the perfect height thanks to a Ridetech adjustable suspension system.

The CMM team’s primary focus for the 2018 racing season will be real-world research and development, in the form of 660- and 1,320-foot sprints. Look for this potent screw-blown, diesel-fueled couple and various gas and diesel drag racing events nation-wide.

Duramax Entry Level Rotating Assembly

Odon, IN – September 18th, 2017 – WAGLER COMPETITION PRODUCTS, the experts in Duramax performance, have put together an entry level forged rotating assembly for the Duramax engine that will support up to 800 horsepower at the crank.

The WCP Duramax Entry Level Rotating Assembly is the ideal package for either a stock workhorse or a hot street truck. OE GM crankshafts have been known to break even in bone stock trucks, so WCP’s Duramax Entry Level Rotating Assembly can benefit those who are looking for increased durability, more power, or both. Even if the power goals are less than 800 HP, WCP’s assembly offers piece of mind for those who abuse their engines.

Coming in at $5,175.47, the WCP Duramax Entry Level Rotating Assembly includes the following parts:

  • Callies forged Compstar 6.6 Duramax crankshaft (not balanced)
  • WCP As-Forged Duramax Street Rod (set of 8)
  • Mahle Clevite pistons (set of 8)
  • Duramax ring set (.020 over bore)
  • WCP piston valve relief and bowl de-lipped
  • Duramax main bearing set
  • Duramax rod bearing set
  • Duramax thrust bearing kit

The WCP Duramax Entry Level Rotating Assembly gives the added strength of forged internals while still leaving more of the budget for a big turbo, lots of fuel, and other fun upgrades. For more information, or to purchase, contact Wagler Competition Products at (812) 636-0391.

Odon, IN – July 25, 2017 – WAGLER COMPETITION PRODUCTS has developed a new forged Duramax connecting rod that will make obtaining four-digit horsepower goals more affordable. Wagler uses an as-forged manufacturing process that forges the rod to shape and requires much less machining to finish. The result is a forged rod that will handle up to 1,000 HP for a fraction of the cost of the Competition Series rods.

Coming in at just $1,700 per set, the WCP Duramax As-forged Street connecting rods have great value by featuring the benefits below:

  • Made from 4340ACQ certified material
  • All drafting, design, programming, machining, assembly, and QC performed in-house by qualified and experienced personnel
  • Utilizes factory replacement bearings
  • Honed to factory specifications and produced to fit factory pistons with no clearancing required
  • Come standard with ARP2000 7/16″ fasteners.
  • Machined in vital areas and shot peened to reduce stress risers
  • Rated to handle up to 1,000 HP
  • All sets balanced to a +/- 6 gram standard
  • 100% made in the USA

By offering this street and wallet friendly alternative to the bulletproof Competition Series connecting rods, Wagler Competition Products can offer something for all Duramax performance levels. Coming in at roughly $1,000 less than the closest competitor, Wagler’s As-forged Street connecting rods are a great choice for those who want to push their Duramax to the next level without pushing the budget, too.

2017 Wagler Diesel Competition – Event Recap & Results

2017 Wagler Diesel Competition
The strongest, fastest, and best looking diesel trucks swarmed Southern Indiana for the third annual Wagler Diesel Competition in Elnora, IN on June 9-11, 2017. It was a fun, soot-filled weekend for diesel enthusiast from all walks of life. The Wagler Diesel Competition 2017 had plenty of action on tap, from sled-lugging torque monsters, to nitrous-huffing horsepower kings and alcohol-chugging pro mods racing against diesel-powered hot rods.

The performance diesel industry’s best manufacturers were on site to display their innovative technology and to offer helpful tips and tech support to the diesel community. Great food and good music was the final turn that locked the WDC 2017 in as great diesel event!

2017 Wagler Diesel Competition
The manufacturer’s midway was the equivalent to a gearhead’s comic-con where grown men had a boyish gleam in their eye as they planned their ultimate truck build. Expert advice and cutting-edge technology was the topic of most conversations being had along vendor’s row.

For some, looking good is not enough, and power is what really counts. These types got as close to the dynamometer as the barricades would safely allow watching trucks strap to the rollers in an attempt to gain horsepower glory. There was plenty of nitrous on hand for those brave enough to use it, and trucks without kits could partake in the form of a very brave human nitrous controller who would crack a bottle directly into the intake pipe for a little HP boost.

The WDC 2017 extended the fun into Sunday with a new type of drag race called the Diesel vs Gas Shootout that gives diesel powered race cars and trucks a chance to line up against the big boys. The Diesel vs Gas Shootout follows the Wagler tradition of thinking outside of the box. Wagler Competition Products strives to be an innovator in all things that we do.

2017 Wagler Diesel Competition
Two-time Hot Rod Drag Week Champion, Jeff Lutz, was on site with Mad Max looking for some Big Tire Shootout action. Discovery Channel’s Street Outlaws star, Farmtruck, was also there sharing driving duties of the WCP DX500-powered ShopTruck with Jeremy Wagler.

2017 Wagler Diesel Competition
The competition was tough and there were four rail dragsters on the property looking to grab the $5K payout. Yet, the Big Tire final would see Judd Coffman’s twin turbo Pro Modified Mustang take on the blown alcohol dragster driven by Richard Edwards in an epic race where the door-slammer prevailed. Congrats to all of the winners of the inaugural Diesel vs Gas Shootout!

Big Tire NT Shootout Winner: Judd Coffman – 1967 Mustang Pro Mod (481X-powered)

Press Release: WCP’s Twin-Charged, Nitrous-Assisted DX500 Billet Duramax Unvielded at SEMA

Las Vegas, NV – November 1, 2016 – WAGLER COMPETITION PRODUCTS (WCP) continues to push the limit of diesel motorsports with their DX500 billet Duramax engine. Unveiled at the 2016 SEMA Show, the DX500 is built to handle extreme power levels and every piece is held together by the best fasteners on earth. It’s only natural that the DX500 is on display in the Automotive Racing Products (ARP) booth, #22525 in the central hall.

WCP’s DX500 is the first-ever all billet Duramax engine. It was designed and machined in house by Wagler Competition Products specifically to meet the extreme power demands of top level diesel competition. The WCP DX500 will be offered to the public with many different options to choose from, but WCP held nothing back for the very first version by using every power-adder at their disposal. At first glance this may seem like overkill, but this particular DX500 will be the same engine Wagler installs in their 2017 Ultimate Callout Challenge (UCC) entry called “The Shop Truck”. The Ultimate Callout Challenge is an invitational contest of diesel glory where the only rules are the laws of physics – there’s no better venue to push the DX500 prototype to the limit.

The 500 cubic inch DX500 utilizes the best components and technology available in the racing industry. The billet Duramax block, billet heads with ductile iron insert, and billet intake assembly were manufactured by Wagler Competition Products. The rotating assembly consists of: a Winberg crankshaft, WCP rods, Ross pistons, Trend wrist pins, and a Total Seal ring set. The DX500 uses an innovative Comp Cams camshaft with a roller cam bearing and Trend pushrods. Everything is held together by ARP fasteners. Fuel for the DX500 is provided by a custom system from S&S Diesel Motorsport, the leader in electronic diesel injection, and includes triple high pressure CP3 fuel pumps, precision calibrated injectors, media honed fuel rails, and a Bosch Motorsport ECU with S&S calibration. The UCC edition DX500 also has a methanol injection system by Engler and a Waterman pump to feed it. All of that fuel needs plenty of air and Wagler has chosen to use a combination of the best power adders in existence: a PSI screw blower and twin Precision Turbo & Engine Pro Mod 102 turbochargers. The screw blower will get things going and the turbos will feed generous amounts of air through the Vibrant piping into the custom intake, post-supercharger. Power management will be of utmost importance and Wagler is utilizing twin PTE 66mm wastegates to keep the air under control. As if that is not enough, the UCC-version of the WCP DX500 will also be nitrous assisted. All of the power adders and different injectables must work as a system, and that will be handled by the Bosch Motorsport ECU and the wizards at S&S Diesel Motorsport.

General production DX500s are not available yet, but Wagler Competition Products will put the UCC DX500 through the wringer to make sure all the proper testing has been done before they become available for purchase.
